Goat Heart???

it is 10:04 p.m. on thursday (2:04 CT), and ron and i are very tired. we told our team (can't describe how awesome they've been) at the beginning that we wanted them to use us - that we wanted to be completely empty when we leave. boy has that come true! this mission is simply unbelievable. sonya, you're right when you say that everyone should come here. and believe me, we will be recruiting for next year when we get back!

words cannot describe the slum we visited. we have some pics, but still you must see it for yourself. we met with the pastor of a new church zachary started a month ago. he was very precious. i can't imagine what it must be like to minister there. these people make about 50 shillings per day (68 shillings is one dollar), so since they can't afford entertainment, they pleasure themselves with sex. HIV is rampant there. their "homes" are nothing more than three tin walls - lined one after another. ron prayed with the pastor, and we left there with a new perspective on life.

last night we ate a traditional african feast: green stuff, white stuff, goat ribs, and goat heart. you eat it communally and with your hands (btw, we use germ-x about four thousand times each day). it was a very special time to eat with our new brothers whom we love so much. you guys will meet them sunday morning!

today marked the beginning of our conferences. ron did a great job with his two sessions (i told him that he exceeded my expectations.) there were about 100 business people there. after lunch, i spoke on sin and then the greatness of God. there were about 75 worship leaders there. i learned a new song today that i will definately be bringing back to cbc - i think you guys will love it. we ended the day with a "dancing service." i mean a real life dancing service! very traditional and wonderful to experience.

words cannot express how we feel. this is simply an amazing experience. we have fallen in love with africa and the kenyan people. they are truly precious. they are so polite and considerate, but the traffic is CHAOS!!! burge would flip out!

so please continue to pray. i know many of you are praying because God is with us mightily. He is so faithful, and we are seeing Him work in great ways. please continue to pray for our rest. we get up early, go hard all day, and go to bed late. i'm praying that God will give us more rest than sleep. our stomachs have adjusted very well (knock on wood, k-dub), but we will continue to be careful.

we love each of you, and are very excited to share with you all that God has done through cbc in africa! until then - Buama asifiwi!

Wow, guys, this is awesome! It's been cool to see CBC get behind you both. More so now that you're there for real. Everyone is really looking forward to hopefully seeing you on Sunday (Lord willing if the creeks don't rise!). How much trouble would I have eating over there, Clark?

I continue to pray - I awaken in the a.m. early - can't sleep - then pray - I always pray for strength for you both - for health and safety - for Bridget and the kids as they continue the ministry and life in the states - but more than anything I pray for the "harvest" -As a Mama my heart is heavy, happy, glad, excited, praising, worshiping, all of the above.

I thank God for Country Bible Church and their support and love for you two men - for their ministry there in Kaufman.

Whowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!! is all I can say - I second your thought Matt on that. It's now about us, it's all about a God that is far greater than we can comprehend - the world is bigger than where I live - it's bigger than Africa - oh that all could see that loving God and wonderful son, Jesus.

Hi Ron and Clark! We are praying for you, this is very exciting. I have started talking to Rotary about our Kaufman club supporting a water project in Nairobi, that would be cool!

We continue to life up the people of Africa. Your new found love for the people of Africa comes through in your postings. It's easy to be indifferent when you have not met the people. After you have, then God goes to work in your heart.

We will be asking God to continue to stretch you both in ways that you did't know you could. We won't be able to see you on Sunday because I will be speaking at another church about missions, but I look forward to hearing all about it.

Consider your joints constantly, even the ones that aren't bothering you. Ensure that you shift with the important joints in mind. This may indicate launching a door with the shoulder joint as opposed to both your hands, by way of example. Usually take into consideration the easiest method to transfer to enable you to continue to be pain and ache free. t22wuul
